Description
This long awaited release from the Bulleit Distilling Company features a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and is matured in charred white oak barrels for four to seven years. Although produced in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the high quality grains for Bulleit Rye are sourced from Germany, Sweden, Canada and the United States, resulting in a distinctive, complex spirit. On the nose, Bulleit Rye offers inviting aromas of cherry, tobacco and spice, which lead to a smooth, balanced palate entry. Soft fruit notes appear first, but soon give way to sweet and spicy flavors of maple, vanilla, oak, and toffee, which contrast with touches of cinnamon and black pepper. Notes of caramel and dried fruit linger through the medium dry finish.
