Inver House Green Plaid was first launched in the USA in 1956. Since its introduction it has achieved excellent growth world-wide with key markets now including Europe and Latin America as well as the USA, where it sits in the top 10 blended Scotch Whisky brands.
Inver House Green Plaid is renowned for its quality and only the finest mature Scotch whiskies from over 20 distilleries are selected for this blend.
The legend of Green Plaid is even more ancient than the distilling of Scotch whisky. 'Plaid' is the traditional Scottish name for the heavy woollen tartan material used to make the famous kilt. It is thought that Green Plaid was worn by the first Lord of the Isles, a 12th Century Viking Warrior called Somerled. The Lord of the Isles tartan is incorporated into the label of this legendary blended whisky.
